Homemade Bread Dressing / Stuffing


  • 5.3 lbs of bread (we keep all of our stale bread and put it in the fridge until we have enough to make bread dressing)
  • 8 oz butter
  • 1.2 lb chopped celery (1 bunch)
  • 1.5 lbs sliced mushrooms
  • 2.0 lbs of diced onions
  • 1.5 cups of broth (Turkey, chicken or vegetable)
  • 2 Tbsp sage
  • 2 Tbsp Real Salt


  1. Melt butter in Pot
  2. Add chopped celery
  3. Add chopped onion when celery starts to soften
  4. Add sliced mushroom when onion starts to soften
  5. Add broth
  6. Add salt
  7. Add Sage
  8. cook down on medium low heat while slicing bread
  9. Slice bread into small cubes and broil slightly to toast.
  10. Add toasted bread to a large bowl
  11. Pour vegetable and broth mixture on to bread and mix.
