Whole Wheat Honey Oat Bread

Otherwise known as “the best bread in the world!” Seriously, this bread will make your mouth water and have you craving more.

Makes 6 loaves

6 cups boiling water

3 cups rolled oats, uncooked

Add oats to Bosch mixing bowl and pour boiling water on top. Let stand until oats are thoroughly softened.

2 cups warm water

3 Tbsp salt

1 1/2 cup honey

6 Tbsp olive oil

Add the warm water, salt, honey, and olive oil to the oats when they are lukewarm.

9 cups freshly ground hard red wheat flour

3 Tbsp instant yeast

Add the hard red flour and instant yeast to oat mixture while Bosch is mixing at level 1.

Slowly add 7-9 cups of freshly ground hard white wheat or as much as needed until dough pulls away from sides of bowl. Continue kneading at level 1 for 6 minutes. While it is kneading, butter 6 loaf pans. After 6 minutes are complete, remove dough from bowl and separate into 6 loaves that are each approximately 1.85 lbs. Let rise in oven for 45-60 minutes or until loaves double in size. Turn on oven to 350 and cook for 25 minutes. Then place a food thermometer inside a loaf. Bread is done when internal temperature reaches 185 degrees F.
